Interviews

Long-form conversations with the people who shape alternative fashion.

Editorial work powered by APOV Visual Artist via our publishing studio. Capturing alternative fashion since 2012. Sister project: IrisArtPhoto.

Since 2014, Gothic and Amazing has published interviews with the alternative models, photographers, designers and musicians whose work defines the dark, romantic and avant-garde edges of fashion. The interview is one of our oldest formats: weekly question-and-answer features that document a creator's process, references and place in the global goth community.

Who we interview

Our interviews focus on people who actively contribute to alternative fashion and goth culture. That includes alternative models (e.g. Maria Amanda based in Copenhagen, Mary Grace Almera Dela Peña in Denmark, Obsidian Kerttu, Nina de Lianin in Belgrade and Berlin, Dahliawitch, Mae.b07, Ai Tenshi Misha, Savra, Lusy Logan, Electra Nox, Dayana Crunk and many more), photographers (Photography Smashed With Poetry, Temira Decay, Josefine Jonsson, John Wolfrik, Bernadette Newberry, Laura Donohoe, and our own APOV Visual Artist), designers and brand owners (Pretty Bastard, Nøkke Fensholt of Fairytailor, plus contributors to Scarlet Darkness, Wulgaria, Villena Viscaria, Necessary Evil and others), and musicians from goth, darkwave, symphonic metal and adjacent scenes.

Interview formats

Most interviews follow a long-form Q&A structure between 1500 and 3500 words. We always open with the creator's background, then walk through their craft and references, and close with a forward-looking section about upcoming projects. Photo interviews are illustrated with editorial images credited to every contributor. Music interviews include direct streaming links to the band's official platforms — never to pirate sources.

Pitching an interview

If you would like us to interview you, or to pitch an interview with someone from your team, head to the Submissions Portal. The submissions portal lists the formats we accept, the small processing fee that applies to certain interview tracks, and the editorial criteria.

For brand-side collaborations, partnership inquiries and press contacts beyond editorial features, the publisher behind G&A also runs a dedicated professional photography studio — find their service catalogue on studiotimeless.fr.
