Featured Models

The faces of a decade of alternative editorial work.

Editorial work powered by APOV Visual Artist via our publishing studio. Capturing alternative fashion since 2012. Sister project: IrisArtPhoto.

Models are the people who turn a designer's pattern, a photographer's lighting and a make-up artist's brush into a single image. Gothic and Amazing has featured hundreds of alternative models since 2014 — from established names with international careers to first-timers who responded to one of our open calls.

Models we have published

Our archive includes alternative models from across the world. Names that appear repeatedly in our editorials include Maria Amanda (Copenhagen), Mary Grace Almera Dela Peña (Denmark), Obsidian Kerttu (model and make-up artist), Nina de Lianin (Belgrade and Berlin, also a performing artist), Dahliawitch, Mae.b07, Ai Tenshi Misha, Savra, Lusy Logan, Electra Nox, Dayana Crunk, Aimeeisweirdd and the male model Azael. This is not a closed list — we add new faces in every issue.

What we look for

We look for personality first, technical skill second. A G&A editorial works when the model brings something specific to the camera — a register, a posture, a relationship with the styling. Body type, age, gender expression and ethnic background are not gating factors. We have featured cisgender, transgender, non-binary, plus-size, mature and male alternative models. Inclusivity is a baseline, not a marketing line.

How a typical editorial comes together

Apply as a model

If you would like to be considered as a G&A Model — either for a one-off editorial or as a labelled G&A Model with priority for upcoming features — please apply through our open call under the 'Model application' track. The basic application is free; certain dedicated tracks (cover stories, magazine spreads) involve a small processing fee that helps cover the operational costs of the magazine.

If you would also like portrait images for your portfolio that match the editorial register of G&A, our publisher offers personal photography services on our publishing studio.
