This archive is a chronological timeline of Gothic and Amazing — the key moments since the night the magazine was created, the website launch, the first printed issue, the major design refreshes, and the milestones in our community growth.

2012

20 December — Gothic and Amazing is created as a Facebook page. The name is chosen to remind people that not all goth pages need to be dark, depressive or horror-themed.
End of January 2013 — the Facebook page reaches one thousand fans, one month after creation, without any paid promotion.

2013

Throughout the year — the Facebook community grows organically. The Tumblr archive (gothicandamazing.tumblr.com) starts collecting credited editorials from contributors around the world.
The 'credit everyone' rule is formalised as the signature editorial standard: every image we post credits the model, photographer, designer, MUA, hair stylist and brand.

2014

15 April — the first Gothic and Amazing website launches. Format: weekly updates with interviews, band bios, shop reviews, make-up tips and a guest-blog section open to the community.
The international community keeps expanding — readers from Europe, the United States, Australia and Brazil are now regular contributors.

2015

March — the first printed issue of G&A Magazine is released. The magazine is positioned as a high-fashion alternative publication, with print-on-demand distribution through MagCloud.
Subsequent issues follow throughout the year, each built around a featured editorial, an in-depth interview, designer features and a tutorial.

2016

March — Issue 6 features cover model Mary Grace Almera Dela Peña, alongside interviews with Maria Amanda, Nina de Lianin, photographer Temira Decay and designer Pretty Bastard. Make-up tutorial by ReeRee Phillips. Punk Rave review by Eleine.
Coverage continues to expand internationally, with contributors from the Brazilian, Portuguese, German and Scandinavian goth scenes.

2017

Gothic and Amazing starts organising its own collaborative photoshoots with brands, designers, models and photographers — moving from re-publication to commissioning.
Partnership with APOV Visual Artist as the official photographer of the magazine. APOV becomes the lead photographer for G&A-commissioned editorials.

2018–2020

Continuous publication of issues. The contributing-photographer roster grows internationally (Photography Smashed With Poetry, John Wolfrik, Bernadette Newberry, Laura Donohoe, Savra Photography).
Tumblr archive crosses several years of credited content; Instagram and Facebook audiences continue to grow organically without paid ads.

2021

April — the G&A Magazine design system is refreshed, introducing new typography, a cleaner grid and a stronger photographic style. The new design is rolled out across all subsequent issues.
TikTok (@gothicandamazing) becomes part of the social rotation, focusing on behind-the-scenes photoshoot content.

2022–2024

Coverage broadens to include dark academia, fairy goth and pastel goth as full editorial subjects (in addition to the established trad, romantic and victorian goth tracks).
The Instagram audience approaches 350,000 followers — an entirely organic reach across the period.
The shop sub-domain (shop.gothicandamazing.com) is structured around the magazine collection, with merchandise and back-issue sales.

2025

Submissions portal is moved to a dedicated sub-domain (submit.gothicandamazing.com) with a track-based structure: editorial, model, photographer, designer, brand or shop review, music interview, event coverage, guest blog.
Coverage of the global goth festival calendar (Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Whitby Goth Weekend, M'era Luna, Castle Party, Amphi Festival) becomes a recurring editorial format.

2026

May — full migration of gothicandamazing.com from a Zyrosite SPA to a static HTML/CSS/JS site, with optimised SEO, full Schema.org coverage and an extended editorial sitemap (24 pages).
Continued partnership with the publishing studio and IrisArtPhoto sister project.

Gothic and Amazing was created on the night of December 20, 2012, originally as a Facebook page.

The first printed issue of G&A Magazine was published in March 2015. More than fourteen issues have followed since.

Why is gothicandamazing.org no longer your domain?

The .org domain was used in the early years, then migration moved the project to .com. The .org domain has since been picked up by an unrelated third party and is no longer affiliated with the magazine.

How is the printed magazine produced?

G&A Magazine is produced as print-on-demand through MagCloud (worldwide) and Peecho (European distribution). Both platforms ship internationally.
